Over 6000 people in Port Vila and Efate took the chance to grab a sneak peek at the new venues for the upcoming Pacific Mini Games.

Doors were opened to the public on Sunday to see the brand new venues at the Korman Complex, which will host 12 of the 14 sports on offer during the event.

The opening ceremony is now less than 50 days away and Van2017 CEO Clint Flood says it's important to demonstrate to the public - many of whom doubted the venues would be done on time - that Vanuatu will be ready to host the Games.

"It is important for people to see how good these venues are, and that Port Vila now has some of the best facilities in the Pacific," he said.

"The visitors were treated to some demonstrations of sport, some entertainment, food stall and fun for the kids."

Mr Flood praised the Chinese Government and the contractor CCECC for their commitment to the project and particularly the contractor for working so hard to get the venues done in time.

"Visiting this huge building is so impressive. This is what we needed, it lifts up our morale in sport development.

"Now we have a proper facility in place, I am so proud of it, and thanks to the Government of Vanuatu."

Clint Flood there were a lot of good tickets still available for the Games, including lots of Opening Ceremonies tickets.
