Tongan police have made their 33rd arrest in an ongoing passport scam investigation.
A man has been charged in Tonga for obtaining two passports using forged documents.
The police Passport Taskforce arrested the 43-year-old from Kolofo'ou last Wednesday and charged him with two counts of knowingly dealing with forged documents.
The man has been released on bail and is due to appear in court again in October.
Tonga's Acting Police Commissioner Viliami 'Unga Fa'aoa said this is the second case where Ministry of Justice systems were misused to create false birth certificates.
He said the five accused people in the first case have all been imprisoned.
The passport taskforce was set up nearly two years ago and has made 33 arrests over passport scams.
Thirteen people have pleaded guilty and 20 are now awaiting trial.
