Resigned Fiji minister charged with corruption appears in court

Fiji's resigned minister of education, Mahendra Reddy, who is charged with corruption has appeared in the Magistrates Court.

Doctor Mahendra Reddy, a member of the ruling Fiji First party resigned as minister of education this month after being charged with one count of bribery and another of using undue influence.

The charges were brought by the Independent Commission Against Corruption.

The FBC reported the court deferred the case until the 6th of September for a hearing.
