Fiji's Education Minister Mahendra Reddy is dismissing claims that Wednesday's celebrations for International Yoga Day were a political stunt.
The opposition leader Ro Teimumu Kepa yesterday said involving students in a show in Suva's Albert Park amounted to child abuse and she called for yoga to be introduced into the school curriculum.
However Dr Reddy told Fiji Village that parental consent was sought and the students were well looked after by the Ministry.
Dr Reddy says Wednesday's event was part of the Ministry's calendar and shouldn't be seen as political.
