The Fiji Women's Crisis Centre says it struggles to keep up with the number of pregnant teenagers who come through its door.
Teenage pregnancies remain high in Fiji with 1,456 recorded last year, including a number in both primary and secondary school.
The Centre's director Shamima Ali said teen pregnancy numbers have been high for years and some of the girls are victims of incest or neglect.
She said families need to have open discussions about sexuality with their children.
"We have to remove taboos. The way we talk to young people nowadays. They've got access to all kinds of things. They're experimenting."
"They're sexually active at a very early stage. We need to actually talk very openly as a family, but also the education system has a lot to contribute."
