Fiji police say they have put on hold investigations regarding claims by a man Ricardo Fisher that he was beaten in police custody last year.

Mr Fisher filed a complaint to the police, saying he was picked up by the police and beaten unconscious.

In November, police said Mr Fisher was kept in police custody and was charged with disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest.

Police launched an investigation but their spokesperson Ana Naisoro has told Fiji Village that Mr Fisher has not cooperated with police and attempts to contact him have been futile.
