A Fiji man has been sentenced to nine-and-a-half years in prison for the aggravated robbery of $20.
21-year-old Eparama Tawake was on Friday sentenced for the robbery, in which he attacked a man on a Suva street with a knife for the money.
The Fiji Sun reports that the magistrate, Shageeth Somaratne, said that despite Tawake being a young first time offender, it was the court's duty to protect the public.
Tawake will be eligible for parole in seven years.
