New Zealand Police have confirmed they spoke with a former advisor to two Fiji prime ministers about his Facebook posts.

Shailendra Raju, who now lives in New Zealand, said police had asked him to tone down his Facebook posts.
He said he realises some of the messages he posts are controversial and sensitive but they are factual.
Mr Raju said he deals with issues on good governance, financial corruption, and human rights abuses, and the police had asked him to take a more moderate approach.
In a statement, New Zealand police confirmed the contact, saying they were concerned with specific posts but this was not about Mr Raju's views on the current Fiji government.
They said it was a constructive meeting and that Mr Raju was not told to tone down his commentary on the government and that he knows why police were in touch with him.
