PNG's Governor-General recovering slowly

The Governor-General of Papua New Guinea Sir Michael Ogio is slowly recovering in an Australian hospital according to media reports from PNG.

The Post Courier reports Sir Michael is still in intensive care in Brisbane's Mater Hospital.

It reports the Governor-General has made good progress since being medivacked to Australia last Friday.

He will soon be moved to a hospital ward to continue his treatment.

Sir Michael underwent coronary bypass surgery in Singapore in November last year.
