A human rights advocate in Fiji says another allegation of brutality at the hands of the country's police force is disturbing, but not surprising.
Ricardo Fisher told RNZ International on Monday that he was punched and kicked while in custody last week.
Mr Fisher said he spent two days in hospital with injuries including broken ribs.

The secretary of the NGO Coalition for Human Rights, Monica Waqanisau, said evidence of yet another case of police brutality shows little is changing.
"This is the fourth recent case of brutality that's been inflicted by state agents. You know, people are seeing the disparities in terms of what is being said on a policy level, [with] the attitudes that institutionalise violence," Ms Waqanisau said.
She said the government has promised to clean up the police force, but serious institutional reform is needed.
