The latest session of the Cook Islands parliament has ended after two half days.

The parliament meets only rarely, with the latest sitting days meaning the institution has met for six full days so far in 2016.
The latest session was marked by the complete absence of the opposition MPs who boycotted in protest saying the government intended to push through legislation which would affect two constituencies not currently represented in parliament.
That move was strongly criticised by the Prime Minister Henry Puna and the Speaker Nikki Rattle, who scolded MPs for collecting expenses yet not attending.
Meanwhile the report of a parliamentary committee looking into plans for a deal with the European Union to allow its vessels to operate its tuna purse seiners in Cook Islands waters has been tabled.
