A new codeshare deal linking Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu comes into operation on Friday.
The codeshare links Solomon Airlines, Air Niugini and Air Vanuatu with services between Honiara, Port Moresby, and Port Vila.
There will be four return services a week between Port Moresby and Honiara and one return service between Honiara and Port Vila.
Gus Kraus of Solomon Airlines said the benefits of all three airlines working in unison presented a major boost to the Melanesian region's tourism and business aspirations.
"This codeshare agreement can also be seen as a considerable advancement of the ideals contained within the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) mandate and will play a key role in further promoting MSG principles," said Mr Kraus.
