Father Lonsdale made the statement last week when addressing the second ordinary session of parliament.

He said people in Vanuatu have witnessed the work done by the Ombudsman's Office but once the investigations are complete the findings are kept as documents.

He said the government has been spending a lot of money to operate the Ombudsman's Office and it is better to amend its act so it can prosecute.
