Election authorities in American Samoa are urging new voters to register early for the upcoming election.
The Election Office is also reminding people with expired voter IDs not to delay renewal.
It will release nomination petitions at the end of this month for the election of members of the American Samoa House of Representatives, the delegate to Congress, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor.
Candidates will have until September 1 to collect signatures of voters for their nominations and to pay the required fee.
Candidates for the local legislature need 25 signatures of voters in their respective districts while those vying for Congress and the governorship need 300.
The elections will take place on November 8.
