Cook Islands police have outlined plans to take tough action over driver behaviour on Rarotonga.
A Road Safety Awareness week ran last week but police inspector John Strickland says more care is still needed.
He said police would not tolerate speeding, drunk, dangerous and careless drivers.
So far this year there have been 40 vehicle crashes reported on Rarotonga.
The Cook Islands News reported police were also targetting people who did not have warrants of fitness, driving licences and vehicle registrations.
