Students from the University of Papua New Guinea expect to hear from the Electoral Commission shortly as to why it didn't conduct a poll on plans to boycott classes.
Students have been staging boycotts for the past week over the failure of the prime minister Peter O'Neill to stand aside amid allegations of his involvement in a fraud case.
The students on Tuesday agreed to let the PNG Electoral Commission conduct a poll of the university's students on whether the boycott should continue.
That poll was meant to happen at the university this morning at 9am but it has not gone ahead and the Commission has now told the students it will explain why early this afternoon.
