The European Union and Pacific Community have provided Fiji's Ministry of Agriculture with 43,000 fruit and vegetable seedlings go boost the country's recovery from cyclone Winston.
The EU and SPC have committed to provide a total of nearly half a million plants within the next few months.
According to the EU ambassador, Andrew Jacobs, the initiative's the first of several joint projects with the SPC to help communities affected by the disaster to meet their food security needs in the short term.
"The seedlings provided so far include cabbages, eggplant, tomatoes, chillies, and papaya" he said.
