The Fiji Under 23 football team depart for a six-match tour of Spain today as the team steps up preparations for this year's Olympic Games.
Fiji qualified for Rio after winning the Oceania regional tournament in Port Moresby in July.
Head coach Frank Farina's squad features a number of players who represented Fiji at last year's Under 20 World Cup and is also a chance for older players to press their case for the three overage spots allowed in the Olympic squad.
"It's the first time any Fiji Football team would have travelled to Europe so that's been really fantastic and I'm also looking at possibly a trip to Brazil as well in April, where there's a training camp there specifically in Sao Paulo for Olympic teams. Hopefully that will come about and then obviously preparation prior to going to the Olympics so it's an exciting time for Fiji Football and I think for Oceania Football - I think it's great for the region".
Fiji's first match will be against Lavante United in a week's time.
