Sport: Fiji rugby names another boss - fifth since 2011

John O'Connor has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Fiji Rugby Union.

He is currently the chief executive of the National Fire Authority and replaces Radrodro Tabualevu who resigned last month after just 15 months in the job.

Mr Tabualevu was the fifth person to have filled the role on a permanent or temporary basis in the past four and a half years, but he says it was not forced out.

Last week World Rugby's regional general manager for Asia/Oceania, William Glenwright, says it has not been an ideal situation and it had raised this with the union.

Mr O'Connor takes up the role in February.
