The American Samoa governor Lolo Moliga has undergone an operation at the LBJ Hospital for appendicitus.

The chief edical officer, Dr Iotamo Saleapaga, says the governor is in a stable condition and is now recovering.
Last year Lolo spent more than four months off island due to a medical complaint.
