Papua New Guinea's opposition MPs will be holding an open forum in Port Moresby today, as a vote of no confidence looms over the Peter O'Neill government.

The meeting at Jack Pidik Park will give the public an opportunity to put questions to the MPs

The move comes as the opposition leader, Don Polye, claims his message has been distorted and hindered by the government and its gags on the media.

As he presents an alternative Government to the Parliament, Mr Polye says the opposition policy, named the skill-industry growth strategy, is a fitting successor to Michael Somare's export growth strategy, which laid a solid foundation for the economy.

Mr Polye says he has invited the Prime Minister to join the forum.
