A Hong Kong-based company wants to build the world's largest waterpark in the Northern Marianas.
Best Sunshine International Ltd, which has an exclusive casino license for Saipan, wants the waterpark to be part of its 7.1-billion US dollar integrated resort project on the island.
The company says the massive waterpark project is one of the reasons why the company is eyeing public land currently leased by Mariana Resort and Spa that will expire in 2018.

Aside from the waterpark, the company has also promised to build 20 hotels, and a one-kilometer long shopping strip.
It is now in phase one of its multi-billion dollar project - the $190-million dollar 373-room Grand Mariana Resort in Saipan's tourist district of Garapan.
