Australia is giving Nauru more aid to improve its power supply.
Asian Development Bank official, Andrea Iffland, says the Nauru power supply and the local utility have limited capacity to meet the island's electricity demand.
Australia is giving US$4.74 million to the Nauru Electricity Supply Security and Sustainability Project project, which began last year, with help from the ADB and the European Union.
It involved the installation of a new diesel generator and repairs to the powerhouse roof.
The new aid will go to a second diesel generator and switchgear.
