Climate change focus of Fiji-China ministerial meeting

Fiji's government says China has pledged its support for Fiji's climate change advocacy in the region following talks between the two countries.

The Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of China's National People's Congress, Fu Ying, met with Fiji's foreign minister, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, in Suva this week.

Fiji's Department of Information says Ms Ying pledged support for Fiji's initiatives towards climate change advocacy, and updated Ratu Inoke on China's progress in reducing its carbon emissions.
