The Nauru Government says it is improving opportunities to make complaints by posting two police at the Australian run detention camp for asylum seekers.

The acting Police Commissioner, Superintendent Kalinda Blake, says the officers are the first point of contact for any incident requiring police investigation.
She says it is not a response to the allegations of sexual abuse at the Australian Senate Inquiry, but is designed to make it easier for those who want to file a complaint, whether they are asylum-seekers or workers.
Superintendent Blake says a woman officer, trained in dealing with sexual assault investigations, is always on duty at the camps.
She says the deployment, now in its second week, has so far dealt with misdemeanours ranging from petty theft to noise violations.
