The Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha is to be the chief guest at the Pacific Islands Development Forum in Fiji next month.
It will be the third summit of the Forum which was set up by Fiji to encourage sustainable development in the region.
200 participants from 30 countries are expected to gather in Suva for the summit.
The Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma is also attending.
East Timor's prime minister Xanana Gusmao was the chief guest at the inaugural summit in 2013 which was attended by 300 participants from 40 countries.
