Fiji's public prosecutions office has filed an application to revoke bail granted to three Lautoka men charged with sedition.
FBC News reports a DPP lawyer saying bail should be revoked in the interest of national security, saying a police witness will give evidence that the accused were seen training with firearms.
However, defence lawyer Aman Singh says no evidence has been produced in relation to the firearms, and that the defence needs time to prepare a response.
The DPP says the trio -- Timoci Nagata, Pita Camaimoala Vakatawa and Saimoni Nacolawa -- have been charged under the crimes act with uttering seditions words, and urging others to overthrow the government by use of force.
The bail appeal will be heard in the High Court at Lautoka today.
