The restoration of electricity in the Northern Marianas is expected to take up to four weeks after the territory was hit by Typhoon Soudelor a week ago.
The storm caused major damage on Saipan, Tinian and Rota and most government offices remain shut, while many residents have to queue to buy fuel and drinking water.
An official with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Stephen DeBlasio, says about 1300 residents have registered with the office for assistance.
US Marines and the US Navy have been helping FEMA with the relief work.
The Marianas Variety reports the CNMI Governor, Eloy Inos, is returning to the territory.

It says he has been in regular contact with his deputy, Ralph Torres. since the storm hit.
Mr Torres press secretary, Ivan Blanco, says the Government is appealing for people to be more patient and understanding.
He says responders are doing their best to help to return activity to normal.
