New international flights between Fiji and Tonga's Vava'u group are a step closer with a memorandum of agreement being signed.

Fiji Airways will fly from Nadi to Vava'u and also from Samoa's capital Apia to Fua'amotu on Tongatapu.
The Tongan Minister of Infrastructure, 'Etuate Lavulavu, signed the agreement between the Government and Fiji Airways last week.
Speaking to Radio Tonga News, he said many tourists and visitors faced problems of unconfirmed flights in Tonga and the new move will solve the inconvenience.
