Guam is out to prove last week's historic Football World Cup qualifying win was not a one-off.

The US territory beat Turkmenistan 1-0 on Thursday to notch their first ever win in Asian World Cup qualifying, sending them to the top of Group D.

Matao head coach Gary White says the result was a fantastic experience but the team is not getting carried away ahead of today's match against India.

"We went into this first set of games with the goal of becoming top of the group by the end of it. We're halfway there [and] as soon as the final whistle blew Thursday against Turkmenistan we immediately began to recover and prepare for the second game, so this has been a designed programme for these two games and the objective is to be top of the group. The players are focused, the players are not allowing the hype to get to them too much - they know the most important thing is on the field and performing".
