Fiji's opposition MPs have boycotted today's sitting of Parliament.

The boycott comes after an opposition MP was suspended for two years over a slur made about the speaker during a party meeting outside parliament.
Only government MPs turned up to parliament this morning, after MPs from both opposition parties informed the speaker that they would not go.
It is understood the opposition is meeting today to work out its next steps, after the Sodelpa MP, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, was suspended from parliament for two years last night.
27 of the 50 MPs voted for the suspension, rejecting an opposition motion that he should instead apologise for a slur about the speaker at a Sodelpa constituency meeting.
Responding to government questions, Parliament's speaker, Jiko Luveni, said she will decide later whether the boycotting MPs will be paid for today.
Parliament next sits in July.
