Tonga and Fiji have both missed out on a place in the World Rugby Under 20 Trophy final.

Tonga went into this morning's top of the table Pool B clash against Canada needing only a draw to advance to Sunday's tournament decider.

But the Kingdom conceded a penalty a few minutes from full-time to suffer an agonising 13-11 defeat.

Fiji's hopes were extinguished even before their final pool match, with Georgia beating Portugal to stay unbeaten and advance to the final.

The Fijians conceded a late try to lose their final group match against Uruguay 28-26 and will now play-off against Namibia for fifth and sixth place, with Tonga to meet Uruguay in the third and fourth place play-off.
