Fiji's hopes of qualifying for the final of World Rugby Junior Trophy are over after Georgia beat hosts Portugal 19-11 to secure top spot in Group A.
Bill Gadolo's team were upset by the Georgians at the weekend and play their final pool match this morning against Uruguay, knowing they face at least one more year in the second tier Under 20s competition.
Meanwhile Tonga simply need a draw or better in their final Group B fixture against Canada to advance as top qualifiers to Sunday's final.
Strength and Conditioning coach Tavake Fangupo says the clash is effectively a final in its own right.
"We've watched a couple of their games since we've been here. They have a large forward pack - that's probably where their strength is, in the forward pack. We also have a pretty strong forward pack too so it's going to be a great battle up front. That's kind of the area we're focusing on at the moment, just to get some forward momentum and our backs will hopefully finish off some tries and get some points under our belt."
The overall winner will earn promotion back to the elite World Rugby Junior Championship.
