Fiji's Police Commissioner says his force is struggling with a lack of resources, particularly the availability of vehicles.

Ben Groenewald says less than 45 percent of the police fleet is operational and even those that are working have a high mileage.
Mr Groenewald says he is hopes relief is on the horizon because under half of police investigations are successful, and the lack of resources is not helping to improve that.
"Any shortage of resources, whether it is vehicle shortage or of man-power, is an obstacle in any police organisation and of course it is that we do not have enough vehicles so we can put all our investigators on the road at the same time."
