Samoan PM praises abuse victims group during opening

The Prime Minister has praised the work of the Samoa Victim Support group on its 10 year anniversary.

The group marked 10 years of service by moving into new premises owned by the Ministry of Police which have been renovated recently.

Tuila'epa Sailele Malielegaoi has opened the building and says it will be the center of the service for the many people who are need help .

He says 10 years ago the people of Samoa decided enough was enough when it came the abuse of women and children.

"Our people have risen up to fight against this violence. All of us, with our friends from other countries, have come together in this last ten years to proactively fight against violence and support all those who have been victims. Victims Support has been the messenger."
