Israel says it will donate a water purification vehicle to the Marshall Islands.

The Y-Net news service reports the Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister, Tzachi Hanegbi, visited Samoa for the Small Islands Developing States conference last year and received a request for help from the Marshall Islands President Christopher Loeak.

The mobile portable water treatment system for sustained emergency response and recovery can be used in remote communities and emergency situations.

The system can connect to any possible water source, including rivers, oceans, brackish water and wells to produce drinking water at the standard of the World Health Organisation.

Israel has provided agricultural assistance and medical aid to the Marshall Islands, in return for its strong support for the Jewish state at the United Nations.
