Fiji's Police Commissioner says the case file into a 2013 video showing two men being beaten by security personnel has been handed to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The video, released in March 2013, showed the prolonged beating of two recaptured prisoners, and prompted international condemnation and calls for investigation.

Ben Groenewald earlier this week said the police investigation was recently completed and submitted to the DPP, but it was referred back because a medical certificate for the victim wasn't attached.

Fiji Village reports Mr Groenewald saying this has now been completed and the file has been returned for the DPP to continue with the investigation.
