India has indicated it will hold another forum with Pacific Island countries later this year.
Last year the leaders of a number of Pacific states met with India's prime minister, Narendra Modi, in Suva.
On that occasion he announced plans for a climate change fund, telecommunications assistance and a project to support tele-medicine and tele-education in the Pacific.

Mr Modi also said India will work on solar energy projects at the community level, help establish a trade office in India catering to the Pacific, allow more convenient visa entry for Pacific Islanders, and give expert help in agriculture, healthcare and IT.
The Times of India report that in a letter of congratulations to Tonga's new prime minister, Akilisi Pohiva, Mr Modi says he has great appreciation for the ties with the Pacific region.
He says the next edition of the forum for India-Pacific Islands Co-operation is being planned for later this year in India.
