Suva says the regional guest list is still being finalised.

Sally Round reports.

"India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making the first visit by an Indian prime minister since Indira Gandhi visited more than thirty years ago. Xi Jin Ping's visit will be the first to Fiji by a Chinese president. The leaders come to Fiji two days apart after attending the G20 summit of the world's major economies in Australia.Suva says Mr Xi will hold a collective meeting with the leaders of a number of Pacific Island countries and bilateral talks are also planned. The Indian High Commission in Suva says a gathering is also planned for Mr Modi to interact with Pacific Island countries. The meetings come as Fiji moves to reassert its leadership in the region, and continues to question the make-up of the region's main political body, the Pacific Islands Forum."
