Aumua Amata unseated the territory's long serving congressman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin in last week's elections.

Aumua says she hopes to meet with the territory's leaders soon and will work closely with the Fono and the administration.

"We've got fishery issues, family tax incentive issues, many many different things but the bottom line is that I want to be able to work very closely with the Fono and the Governor as a team and to present a unified voice in front of Congress."
