11:52 am on 27 October 2014

The second round of the OFC Women's Nations Cup will be played in Papua New Guinea today.

Tonga will play the Cook Islands which both lost the weekend's first round matches.

Tonga lost to New Zealand 17-0 while the Cook Islands went down one goal to four to host Papua New Guinea.

The second match today will see the PNG play New Zealand.

The OFC Head of Competitions Michael Song says there is a lot at stake in the four-team tournament.

"The winner of this tournament will not just be crowned Oceania champions but they will also be qualified for 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada. That takes place in June and July next year. Whoever comes through I'm sure they will represent our region proudly."
