Samoa's Women in Business network says small scale organic farmers will benefit from the launch of a new boutique tea company.
New Zealand business C1Espresso launched the Golden Panther Tea Company during the recent United Nation's conference on Small Island Developing States in Apia.
Women in Business Development spokesperson, Faumuina Tafuna'i, says farming families will gain from the extension of the five year partnership that began with a focus on coffee and will now export specialty tea to New Zealand.
"The farmer will be in charge of planting, harvesting and then also processing, so the drying of the leaf product, right through to packaging. The benefit is not just about an increase in income, it's actually an increase in skills and building up families as a business unit."
