American Samoa's Governor Lolo Letalu Moliga has returned to the territory after months of absence.
The governor left in February for a meeting in Washington D.C. but fell ill and was admitted to hospital.
The government hasn't given any information on his illness but our correspondent says it's understood he had a heart procedure while in hospital in D.C.
He later travelled to Honolulu where he was also admitted to hospital and had been there since undergoing treatment as an out-patient.
His return comes as the Senate is drafting a resolution questioning the governor's extended absence .
