For the first time, a woman has been appointed to chair the Vanuatu Broadcasting and Television Corporation board.
Jennifer Kausei, who has been working as manager of marketing and communications with the Vanuatu National Provident Fund, will replace Iaris Naunun of Green Party as the VBTC board head.
Mrs Kausei, is also a former announcer on Radio Vanuatu.
The Prime Minister Joe Natuman's appointment of Mrs Kausei has been welcomed by women's organisations which see her appointment as an example of moves towards gender equity.
