7:36 am on 1 July 2014

Reports from Fiji say the regime-backed FijiFirst party has lodged its financial documents with the Fijian authorities as part of the party registration procedure before the September election.

Fiji Live reports the party's General Secretary and the country's Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, lodged the documents with the Political Parties registrar yesterday evening.

The website reports Mr Sayed-Khaiyum has confirmed that individual declarations have been made by the party's office-bearers including himself and the regime leader Frank Bainimarama.

The party has also made a separate declaration.

The declarations are expected to be made public in coming days.
