American Samoan police morale down after abuse

5:03 pm on 30 June 2014

The American Samoan police have been told not to deviate from their duty despite recent threats.

The Police Commissioner, William Haleck, says there have been brutal verbal assaults on officers, and some are now hesitant to respond to emergencies or public disturbances.

Mr Haleck says police officers should continue to do their duties because they are there to protect and serve the community.
