Nauru has announced another 10 people have been granted refugee status and been moved into the community.

It takes to 23 the number of refugees announced by the Nauru government this week - the first since the Australian-run camps were opened 20 months ago.

The two families in the latest group have been re-settled temporarily in the Anibare Lodge and the four single men are at a separate site.

The Nauru government says in the second phase of the re-settlement the refugees, who are being given five-year visas, will be moved to permanent, more suitably located accommodation.

It says 11 amongst the latest group have been found not to be refugees.
