Student promiscuity and bullying up in CNMI

Nearly a fifth of public high school students in the Northern Marianas say they were bullied at school last year.

The results of the 2013 Youth Risk Behaviour Survey show an increase in the number of students engaging in sex and bullying.

19.7 percent of students say they experienced being bullied on school property during the past 12 months compared to 18 and a half percent during the 2011 survey.

The Public School System conducts the survey every two years among middle high and high school students in public schools.

It is designed to find out the prevalence of risky behaviour among students like tobacco, alcohol and other drug use, sexual behaviour and dietary habits.
