A by-election for the Niuas' noble seat in the Tonga Parliament is expected to be held on Thursday next week, May the 22nd.
The constituency covers the islands of Niuafo'ou and Niuatoputapu.
Radio Tonga reports the Supervisor of Elections, Pita Vuki, was authorised last week by the Speaker of Parliament, Lord Fakafanua, to prepare the by-election for next week.
The by-election follows the death of Lord Fusitu'a two weeks ago.
The nobles will choose the new member from among the new Lord Fusitu'a, Lord Fotofili and Lord Tangipa.
