The Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration in American Samoa is probing the death of a stevedore who was run over by a container hauler in Satala earlier thsi month.
A spokesperson for the Department, Jose Carnevali, says the Office was notified about the accident on April the 11th, the day it occurred.
Witnesses say the man tried to stop the container hauler which was sliding down from an incline in front of the warehouse of the Starkist cannery.
But they say in his attempts to get inside the hauler, he slipped and fell and was run over, being killed instantly.
